The very first get ready with me (1930s)

I’m really into watching vintage adverts and films and can spend hours on youtube watching old adverts or informational films.

I’m especially interested in the old skincare ads and beauty guides put together to help women look their best so when I stumbled across this video I was really excited.

This short films shows the 20s and 30s Hollywood star Constance Bennett doing her morning routine whilst she gives the watcher valuable  grooming and makeup tips.

Not only is this a fascinating watch but I still think it’s core  message has value even today. Ok so this may not be completely relevant in 2016, most of us don’t have maids running our baths or access to  the skin products she uses let alone knowing exactly what a facial stimulant  cream or glow base is but the emphasis of having pride in your  appearance and taking care of yourself can still be applied today.

As Constance says herself:

“Feeling beautiful and natural is the birthright of every woman.”
